Geology and geochemistry of deformed granites from the Querari Complex, Rio Negro Province, NW-Amazonian Craton, Brazil

The Querari Complex corresponds to the basement rocks from Uaupes Domain and represents one of least studied units in northwest Rio Negro Province, Amazonian Craton. In this paper, we present new field geology, petrographic, geochemical data deformed granites Complex. Based on our results, suggest differentiation into two magmatic facies. Pana-Pana Facies comprise mainly porphyritic syeno monzogranites with biotite as main mafic mineral, titanite, epidote, allanite accessory phases. have calc-alkaline metaluminous affinities. Matapi a syenogranite composition, coarse texture muscovite biotite, normative corundum higher than 1% (1.85-2.06), mostly peraluminous character. Both facies are generally enriched silica small spectrum variation. (67.5 70.1 wt.% - 71.1 73 Facies), but they differ by high Al2O3, Fe2O3, MgO, CaO, Sr, Ba contents Facies. Geological compositions that precursors these may be derived partial melting metasedimentary sources, whereas probably meta-ignea source intermediate such tonalitic gneisses. would been generated collisional tectonic settings during Paleoproterozoic (between 1778 1740 Ma). During 1.78-1.74 Ga tectono-magmatic event (D1), fabric (S0) parallel S1 foliation developed, NE-SE orientation. A subsequent (D2) was responsible for folding foliation, creating S2 axial planar an approximate orientation E-W. This D2 is thought represent Calymmian (1.52 1.48 Ga) tectono-metamorphic event, associated widespread I- S-type granite emplacement Province. deformation textures, well mineral paragenesis facies, reveal temperature conditions at upper amphibolite up 700oC. Finally, D3 comprises reactivation many NE-SW ductile shear zones sinistral kinematic, mylonitic (S3) linked intracratonic K´Mudku 1317 1198 Ma) Greenvillian-Sunsas continental collision.
